Exploring the Power of Artificial Intelligence: What Is AI and How Can It Transform the Future?
What is Artificial Intelligence (AI) and How Does it Work?
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE.
Artificial intelligence (AI) is the broad branch of computer science concerned with building smart machines that typically require human intelligence. AI is an interdisciplinary science with many approaches, but advances in machine learning and deep learning are creating a paradigm shift in nearly every sector of the tech industry. New discoveries are being made everyday. The world is changing rapidly and with this artificial intelligence is also improving continuously, that day is not far away when we will be surrounded by them, all our work will be under them.
Artificial intelligence generally falls into two broad categories:
NARROW AI: Sometimes referred to as "weak AI", this type of artificial intelligence operates in a limited context and is an emulation of human intelligence. Narrow AI is often focused on doing a single task very well and while these machines may appear to be intelligent, they are operating under far greater constraints and limitations than even the most basic human intelligence.
ARTIFICIAL AI: General Intelligence (AGI): AGI, sometimes referred to as "Strong AI", is the kind of artificial intelligence we see in movies, such as the robots from Westworld or Data from Star Trek: The Next generation. AGI is a machine that has general intelligence and, like a human, it can apply that intelligence to solve any problem.
If it becomes more advanced and it is not kept under control, then it can become a threat to the human society. But still today many companies are continuously developing them only for their benefit. But as of now nothing like this has happened, so we only take knowledge.
For example:
1. Artistic Skill Test
2. Smart assistants (such as Siri and Alexa.)
3. Disease Mapping and Prediction Tools
4. Manufacturing of Robots and Drones
5.Driverless car
These are all examples of AI. Because the same programming has happened inside them.
Turing, in ("Computing Machinery and Intelligence") (1950), set out the fundamental goals and vision of artificial intelligence.
